Join felt artist, Caoimhe Tuthill at her home studio in Slane to create a wet felt flower brooch inspired by the heritage and ancient landscapes of the Boyne Valley. Relax into a wonderfully mindful experience while learning this age old craft with the process of layering and mixing carded wool, adding soapy water, friction, time and love culminating in a unique piece of felted art. Leave with your very own handcrafted brooch and a deeper appreciation for this ancient art and the enchanting history of the Boyne Valley.

Meet 5th generation sheep farmer, Alison Fullam Gogan on her family farm and learn about the age-old tradition of spinning.
Meet the Jacob sheep who happily graze against the backdrop of the ancient Neolithic Cairn of Newgrange before joining Alison in her craft shop for an immersive demonstration of the traditional processes, from fleece, washing, carding, spinning to completed garment.
Work with the wool to felt your very own sheep under Alison’s gentle guidance and take time to browse the extensive mix of wool and local crafts in Alison’s beautiful craft shop.
