Loughcrew Viking Festival: 31st May - 1st June 2025

Loughcrew Estate & Gardens in conjunction with Fingal Living History Society are proud to present the Loughcrew Viking Festival. Following the success of the “Vikings Are Back” event in June 2024, planning began to bring History to life on a larger scale in 2025.

Fingal Living History Society have dedicated over 25 years to portraying medieval and viking life and times in an accurate, informative and entertaining manner. An attendee of this event can expect to experience an interactive depiction of history, Witnessing combat and craft Displays, that may change their perception of Early Medieval and Viking History.

The ticket price will include:

• Entry to the event at Loughcrew Estate and Gardens.
• A family-orientated experience that promotes education, through interactive
• displays and entertainment.
• Free Have-A-Go Archery. Suitable for all ages, some with parental supervision.
• Free Axe-Throwing, Suitable for 18+ Only.
• Free to take home momentos, limited to one of each per child.
• These include:
• A stamped coin, that replicates the first coin ever made in Ireland.
• A leather rune token of choice.
• A beeswax candle, made by each child.
• A set of Hnefltafl game pieces, to play Viking games at home.

Visitor Information

• Annual Garden Ticket: Please note, this event is not covered by the Annual Garden Ticket.
• Weather Precautions: The event runs rain or shine, so be prepared for Ireland’s unpredictable weather!
• Food & Drinks: Enjoy a variety of refreshments at Lime Street Coffee Shop during your visit.
• Wheelchair Accessible: Our venue is fully accessible for guests using wheelchairs.
• Dog Friendly: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
• Children Under 2: Free entry for children under 2 years old.
• Parking: Ample parking available on-site.
• Toilets: Restroom facilities will be available.
