Maguires Cafe Hill of Tara

If a walk on the famous hill has worked up an appetite, Maguires Cafe can help restore you. Feel at home in the warm, cosy atmosphere and allow our friendly staff to cater to your needs. The beautiful traditional Irish homemade food and selection of local craft beers will leave you talking for years to come.

We have built and installed a traditional Wood Fired Pizza Oven. Pizzas are available Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from 2 - 6.30pm.

Each pizza is made with loving care by our passionate, chef Luciano. We plan to further extend the opening hours once summer season kicks in fully so watch this space.

Orders can be made over the phone or in person. 

We have installed a brand new seating area that locals are already referring to as “The Wall” This is a handcrafted stone wall that sits along the roadside on Tara making it the perfect spot to people watch, park up your bike and watch the world go by with a coffee, glass of prosecco, G&T or Locally harvested Cooney’s Irish Cider.

On the food menu , we have a choice of lite bites such as panini, wraps, salads and soup. Or , if you've more of an appetite worked up, Homemade Gourmet Pies and Irish Steak Sandwiches.
For those of you who prefer to hideaway, we have an outdoor enclosed garden terrace to the rear of the existing restaurant too where food and drink can be enjoyed.
For the children and big children too, we now have a dedicated Gelato Bar and a Waffle Bar. Waffles are already proving popular with choice of fillings, crumbled Oreo biscuit, chocolate sauce and marshmallows is the current topping of choice .

Hours of Business
We remain Open 7 days from 09.30 - 18.00 closing only on December 25th and 26th. These hours will most likely change in summer season.

We will not be taking any bookings for tables.

Our gift shop is open during weekends and by appointment mid week. The shop is brimming with lots of treats and gorgeous gifts.
