Ratoath Garden Centre is a garden centre within a garden. Most of our space is taken up with planted borders. The garden centre logo is ‘mad about plants’ and as it happens the owner, John Lord, is mad about plants.
Over the years John has developed the gardens into what is now probably the largest ‘planted’ garden centre in Ireland. We have two acres of gardens which include an herbaceous border, a large prairie border, mixed borders, a woodland border and a lily pond, complete with seven turtles. They are indeed a delight to walk around and even better they are free!
But you don’t have to be a plant lover to enjoy the tasty treats of the ever popular Wildflower Café situated at Ratoath Garden Centre. With a full breakfast and lunch menu and delicious scones and homemade cakes, there is something tempting for everyone to enjoy. So why not come along and stroll around our extensive gardens, wander around our eclectic gift shop and relax in our Wildflower Café. You won’t be disappointed!
A free walk and talk of Ratoath Gardens is given by John Lord on the second Saturday of every month from May to Sept at 12 noon.
Our location is the R125 between Ashbourne and Ratoath. We are just 10 mins from the M50 on the N2/Derry exit.
