Paddle down the Boyne River with Boyne Boats. The mythology of the past brings you to the mythology of the present. Ross Kenny (founder of Boyne Boats) is a well-known boat builder who featured in and supplied the boats for the hugely successful Game of Thrones series. In fact, his skillfully hand-crafted, traditional Irish currachs from Game of Thrones are used by Ross in the Boyne Boats experience too. A great day out for the entire family. Ross starts his popular boat tours again on the 17th of March.
Funtasia Theme Park and Waterpark
At Funtasia theme park enjoy over 15 different activities. From climbing, bowling or soft play areas to all the fun of the fairground. There’s something for everyone! Open weekdays from 3pm to 10pm and from 10am to 8pm on weekends. The waterpark is re-opening in March!
Have a fun filled day out discovering the Irish Military War Museum. Take a spin in a military tank, visit their family friendly park with petting farm, playground, assault course and more. The Museum also houses one of the finest collections of WW2 Allied and Axis vehicles and all deactivated weapons ever assembled in Ireland. The museum re-opens again in March.
Lismullin School of Cookery and Home Arts
Have fun cooking with the entire family while learning new recipes or send your aspiring head chefs to Lismullin Schools mid-term cook camp. This Cook Camp is for primary school-aged children, 4th - 6th class and takes place on the 24th and 25th of February.
Explore the magical surroundings of Loughcrew Estate this spring. Visit their scenic gardens or take the 6km lake walk around Lough Creeve. Their Fairy Trail is an exciting interactive sensory trail which gets children exploring Loughcrew Gardens and it is now open all year round.
A must visit on your family adventure to the Boyne Valley. Their Family Fun Package offers 5 amazing activities (Mini Golf, Bouncy Inflatables, Pedal Go-Karting, Football Golf, and the all-new adventure playground!) suitable for 3- to 12-year-olds. Booking is essential.
Take an adventure to the farm this spring and meet the animals. At Newgrange open farm and coffee shop you can get up close with puppies, kittens, rabbits, day-old chicks, pet lambs, pet calves, pigs and many more. They reopen on the 17th of March.
Experience the nature trail and river walk at Sonairte this Spring. Pay a visit to the bee museum as well as their café and eco-shop. Sonairte is a place like no other and has something for everyone. Its open from 10am to 5pm Friday to Sunday.
No visit to the Boyne Valley is complete without a visit to Irelands only theme park and zoo. With over 100 attractions, a visit to Tayto Park is an unforgettable day out for the whole family. Their Zoo Walk - Wild with Wonder is back February 26th/ 27th and every weekend in March. Pre booking is required.
Get the adrenaline running with a trip to the Zone this springtime. Choose from activities like indoor karting, bowling, virtual reality, and soft play! They also have outdoor laser tag and a café to get you fuelled up! This is family fun at its best! The Centre is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 8pm.
The perfect activity for the older members of the family (participants must be 14 years or older). As Ireland’s premier outdoor karting facility, they provide thrills and excitement for both experienced and novice drivers in fast, high-spec karts. There really is something for everyone in the Boyne Valley this spring!
Bring the bikes or the walking shoes and discover not one, but three greenways this spring in the Boyne Valley. Meander along the Royal Canal Greenway with access points at Longwood and Enfield. Take in the beautiful Boyne River and Oldbridge House along the Boyne Greenway, and explore the newly opened sections of the Boyne Valley to Lakelands Countyh Greenway at Castletown and Nobber.
Step back in time with a visit to Trim Castle, Slane Castle or Oldbridge House. Explore the ruins of Bective Abbey, Duleek Abbey, The Hill of Slane and so much more.
