Meath County Council Arts Office presents ‘Tempest (50 nights in a Dublin Hotel)’ by artist and musician Steve Wickham.
This collection of 20 paintings were made or begun in a Dublin hotel ‘The REZz’ during the run of Deirdre Kinahan’s play Tempesta, in the Glass Mask Theatre on Dawson Street in October 2023. Wickham was the musician for the run and played a supporting role as Papa Rosen. The paintings are small in dimension, keenly reflecting the confines of a hotel bedroom and were started as a visual diary during his extended stay in Dublin. This exhibition includes excerpts from Steve’s Dublin diary written on the walls of the Toradh Gallery.
Located in the newly renovated Kells Heritage Centre, the Toradh 2 Gallery, coupled with the interactive Boyne Valley heritage display and the proposed upstairs ‘artists’ hub’ arena, is a key addition to the cultural landscape of the county. Running from 11/11/2024 - 31/01/2025

Meath County Council Arts Office also presents ‘Hoor’ An exhibition of poetry and illustration
Featuring the work of Belfast poet Jim McElroy, winner of the MCC Cultural Services Francis Ledwidge Poetry Award 2020 and winner of the International Book and Pamphlet award 2021, and Kells born, Berlin based illustrator Ann Kiernan, Moira Gemmill Illustrator of the Year 2020 and AI40 selected winner 2021.
Juxtaposing Kiernan’s vibrant illustrations with the powerful writing from McElroy, this exhibition Hoor promises to supply an array of aesthetic and linguistic delights to excite the senses.

Situated in Ashbourne Library and Cultural Centre, the Toradh Gallery is currently in its 18th year of operation. To date, the Toradh Gallery in Ashbourne has welcomed a host of engaging visual art exhibitions and accompanying educational programmes featuring works by local, national and international artists.
