St. Brigid’s Day, marking the first day of spring is a time to honour Ireland’s beloved saint and Celtic goddess. This year, County Louth is hosting a series of enchanting events to celebrate Brigid’s legacy.
- Candlelit Procession to Faughart Graveyard
On Sunday, February 2nd, immerse yourself in an ancient-style candlelit procession starting at St. Brigid’s Shrine and concluding at Faughart Graveyard. Led by robed figures and a lone drummer, the procession ends at the Hill of Faughart with a fire-lit motte and Gregorian chant. A truly magical experience.

2. St. Brigid’s Day at Elmgrove Flower Farm
Celebrate the feast of St. Brigid by wandering through fields of early-blooming daffodils at Elmgrove Flower Farm in Gormanston, Meath. On February 1st, visitors can pick daffodils, take stunning photos, and mark the arrival of spring. Tickets are limited, so book early on their website.
3. Moynalty Steam Threshing Museum St. Brigid’s Day Celebrations
