Clarkes Bar, situated in the town centre of Drogheda is a unique pub dating back to 1900.
The pub was built in 1850s and traded as a pub and grocers until 1900 when Thomas Reid transferred his license from Little Denmark St Dublin to Clarkes. The original licences issued by her majesty's government in 1900 are on display. Nano Reid, Irelands foremost visual artist was born in March 1900 and lived on the premises with her family until 1926 when the pub was sold.
Today the unique features of the interior are still in place along with some wonderful characters who frequent on a daily basis. The pint of Guinness is the main tipple and it is said to be have the best pint in town. Well worth a visit!
