Slane Distillery

Slane Irish Whiskey is a world-class working Distillery and state of the art visitor centre. It is located a stone’s throw from Slane Castle in the restored 18th century stable yards. Slane Distillery is a partnership between the Conyngham family of Slane Castle and the Brown-Forman Corporation of Kentucky, USA, owners of the Jack Daniel’s brand. Alex Conyngham, current Earl of Mount Charles and son of Lord Henry, is co-founder and global ambassador for the Slane Irish Whiskey brand. 

The visitor centre is beautifully designed in complete sympathy with the existing heritage building fabric. For example, in the Stalls Bar, the original horse stalls remain intact, with tables for enjoying a cocktail neatly slotted into each one. On the tour, visitors will experience the reality of a modern, working distillery, witnessing the different stages of whiskey production in the mash house, brew house, still house, cooperage and maturation warehouse. Tastings of the signature triple-casked Slane Irish Whiskey are included with elevated tastings available to explore some of the Distillery’s other expressions. These take place in one of the purpose built tasting rooms. 
Slane Distillery celebrates over 40 years of rock ‘n’ roll heritage at Slane Castle in the Whiskey Lounge with records from many of the iconic bands who played Slane. A visit to the luxury gift shop to sample whiskey and browse through a range of vinyl, cocktail books and Slane Whiskey merchandise completes the visit.

Location

Slane Whiskey Distillery is located on the legendary grounds of Slane Castle in County Meath. Just 45 minutes north of Dublin, the distillery, castle, and village are surrounded by the scenic and mythical countryside of the Boyne Valley.
