As the days shorten and the veil between worlds thins, Ireland prepares to embrace its ancient Celtic roots with the return of the Púca Festival 2024. This enchanting event, taking place from October 31st to November 3rd, is a unique celebration that revives the age-old traditions of Samhain—the Celtic festival that eventually evolved into modern-day Halloween. Set against the mystical landscapes of Trim and Athboy, the Púca Festival offers a magical blend of mythology, art, folklore, music, comedy and immersive experiences, all paying tribute to the mythological figure of Púca, a shape-shifting creature from Irish folklore. Here are the events to look forward to this year.

Thursday 31st of October- Halloween Night

On the first night of Púca Festival you can enjoy Ruaile Buaile in the Darnley Lodge Hotel, Athboy, Gavin James and Kingfisher at the Púca Big Top in Trim, Beyond the Veil Púca Trail, A Circus Workshop, Sorcas na Samhna and Samhain Circus in Athboy, Heritage tours of Tlachtga, Lighting of the Samhain Fire, The Púca Harvest Market and Divining Workshop!

Friday 1st of November

Lettfield

Leftfield and Jenny Greene take to the stage at the Púca Big top on Friday 1st of November, The Classic Beatles are in the Darnley Lodge, Qween and Dublin Gospel Choir in Trim Castle Hotel, Mary Coughlan, Beyond the Veil Púca Trail, A Circus Workshop, Sorcas na Samhna and Samhain Circus in Athboy, Heritage tours of Tlachtga, Breachadh an Lae agus Ag shíneadh go dtí na shínsir with Siobhán de Paor at the Hill of Ward.

Saturday 2nd of November

BellX1

BellX1 along with Pa Sheehy take to Púca Big top on Saturday. Panti Bliss will preform in Knightsbrook Hotel, The High Kings in Trim Castle Hotel, Davina Devine in Brogans Bar, On the Road Again will preform in the Castle Arch Hotel, The Hans Zimmer Experience in the Darnley Lodge Hotel, Beyond the Veil Púca Trail, A Circus Workshop, Sorcas na Samhna and Samhain Circus in Athboy, Heritage tours of Tlachtga, Breachadh an Lae agus Ag shíneadh go dtí na shínsir with Siobhán de Paor at the Hill of Ward, Foraging and Herbology Tour, Craicly at Brogans bar and more.

The highlight on Saturday will be the Púca Procession at 6pm in Trim.

Sunday 3rd of November

Mindful Podcast

Dermot Whelan and The mindful podcast takes place in Knightsbrook Hotel on the Sunday as well as Beyond the Veil Púca Trail, A Circus Workshop, Sorcas na Samhna in Athboy, The Púca Harvest Market and more!
