Swim Ireland's Pop-up Pool was officially launched on Tuesday, March 28th in Oldcastle and will be open daily to the public until August. 

Boyne Valley Activities Charity Raft Race will take place Friday March 17th 2023 in aid of Meath River Rescue.

There will be prizes for the winning raft, the Titanic award for the first raft to sink and a prize for the best dressed raft.

The race will start above the rapids at Swifts Wave and will finish after Trim Castle.

All rafts must be cleared away from the riverbank on the day.

Over 18s only. 2 & 4 person teams can participate. Entry fee is €20 per person. 

Bellewstown is a sharp left handed oval of 9 furlongs with a run in of 3 furlongs and uphill finish. There are 5 hurdles on the circuit.

On race day: A courtesy bus, Carroll’s Coach will leave Drogheda 1 hour before first Race from Abbey Car Park beside new Court House.

Bellewstown Race Course fixtures foe 2023 are as follows,

April: Saturday 1st
July: Thursday 6th – Saturday 8th
August: Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th
September: Wednesday 27th & Thursday 28th

Laytown Races will take place on Monday 16th September 2024.

The Laytown Races occupy a unique position in the Irish racing calendar, as Ireland’s only horse racing event run on a beach under the Rules of Racing.

The flat racing event takes place once a year, every September, on the County Meath strand, on a straight, almost level course. Races are confined to six and seven furlong distances.

This is the first Irish meeting since Autumn 2019 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

County Meath Golf Club hosted the World Championship back in 2011 which was a great success.

The 2022 Autumn meeting is over two days with Friday 7th October 1-2pm being a practice day and the Championship itself over eighteen holes commencing on Saturday 9-10am.
