Boyne Valley Tourism Strategy 2024-2030
The Boyne Valley Tourism Strategy launched on Friday 4th October 2024 at Ireland’s only theme park, Emerald Park, County Meath sets out the vision for the development of tourism across Meath and South Louth over the 7 years.
This joint strategy across Counties Meath and Louth, the Boyne Valley, sets out an ambitious target to become one of the Leading Experiential Destinations in the World. It calls on all agencies, tourism industry and communities across both counties to collaborate to achieve the 7 strategic objectives outlined.
The new Tourism Strategy will guide the future development and growth of the tourism industry across the Boyne Valley. It will have an emphasis on sustainability and the integration of the UN SDGs, in addition to incorporating accessibility to create an inclusive destination. Generating an economic spread throughout the destination along with identifying innovative ideas for new projects will be key. There will be a focus on heritage, adventure and activities, food and outdoor trails. The hidden gems along with opportunities within our rural towns and villages are identified as potential for growth.
With 16 recommendations and 6 key transformational Projects, this strategy will lead the Boyne Valley Destination forward into a new era of tourism development signifying its movement into international recognition.
