Over the past number of years, we have found a new appreciation of getting outdoors and discovering beautiful walks and sites of historical interest. At the end of these walks is always a good coffee and a treat, and here in the Boyne Valley, we have plenty of Coffee and Cake for you to enjoy! Here are our top spots to visit this Spring.
Bective Tea Rooms
Enjoy a beautiful cup of coffee or tea in the scenic surrounds of Bective Tea Rooms between Navan and Trim. Why not get a takeaway and enjoy their beautiful 3km walk along the Boyne River too! They are open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
Boyneista Coffee Dock
If you are looking for a good spot to watch the world go by why not head down to Boyneista Coffee Dock at Boyne Valley Activities in Trim. Here you can enjoy beautiful riverside views and indulge in some sweets treats and delicious coffee. Open Friday- Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from 9am-5pm.
Brambles at Brú na Boinne Visitor Centre
On your next visit to Brú na Boinne- Newgrange and Knowth, take some time before or after your tour to enjoy the wonderful setting of Brambles Café in the visitor centre. They are open 7 days a week.
Brambles Café at Oldbridge House
Enjoy a morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea on your next visit to Oldbridge House and The Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre this spring. They are open Monday to Sunday.
Coffee Works Trim
This family-owned Coffee Shop is a must stop on your next visit to the Heritage town of Trim. Serving great coffee and yummy treats, they also supply lots of local goodies too. Open Monday to Sunday until 5pm.
Eureka House Kells
Situated in the heritage town of Kells, Eureka House is the perfect spot to enjoy a catch up with friends or family while enjoying a great coffee and one of their delicious treats. They are also open 7 days a week.
Harvest Home Bakery
Watch the world go by while enjoying great coffee and cakes at Harvest Home Bakery in Trim. This is the perfect spot to sit and relax after a walk in the Porchfields! They are open Tuesday to Saturday until 5pm.
Loughcrew Estate Coffee Shop
Sit and sip an excellent coffee and delicious cake while watching the kids play outside. Situated in Loughcrew Estate and Historic Gardens this is the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of town. Open 7 days 10am - 5pm during summer.
Maguires Hill of Tara
Work up an appetite at the famous Hill of Tara and then make your way down to Maguires for a Coffee and sweet treat. Sit on the wall outside with all the locals and get the news of the day! They are open 7 days a week until 5.45pm.
Park Rí Kells
With lots of different coffee options and a huge selection of cakes and treats, Park Rí is a must stop on your trip around the Boyne Valley. This destination food stop is open 7 days a week.
PlatterByLu
Platterbylu offers a warm, welcoming cafe with its French influence and calm atmosphere in Trim. You will also find an artisan pantry shop, stocked with beautiful cheeses, charcuterie and other goodies. PlatterByLu offers take-away and dine-in options and there is also some outdoor, dog-friendly seating.
Scullery No.4 Kells
Coffee and chats await at Scullery No.4 in Kells this Spring. Situated on Bective Street, you are always guaranteed a friendly smile with good coffee and beautiful home-made bakes! They are open Wednesday to Monday!
Sonairte
Get back to nature at Sonairte Café every weekend. They are open Friday to Sunday and serve a delicious range of vegetarian and vegan meals and treats in the beautiful surrounds of Sonairte Eco Centre and Gardens. Their food is good for people and the planet and where possible uses certified organic seasonal vegetables and fruit grown in the Sonairte garden.
The Central
Pick up a great coffee and delicious cake at The Central this spring and watch the world go by in the centre of Navan. The Cafe offers casual eat in and take out food and drinks all day and night, and they are open 7 days a week!
