An Gobha (Tom King) offers immersive and interactive experiences of traditional iron age metal forging, as demonstrated by the character An Gobha, the blacksmith, delivered with theatre, stories, myths, history and fun. A fun and unique way to spend your time with friends.

Visit Ashbourne Baseball Club
Baseball players
Ashbourne Baseball Club’s home field is the International Baseball Centre. The IBC is the finest baseball facility in Ireland and Ireland’s only international standard baseball diamond. Games are played most weekends and spectators are welcome. Admission is free and food and beverages are available.

A trip to a distillery is never a bad idea and here in the Boyne Valley you can visit the amazing Slane Whiskey Distillery and Fore Distillery. You can also make your own Gin at Listoke Distillery and Gin School.

Paddle down the tranquil Boyne River as a group and retrace the journey of our ancestors over 5,000 years ago. Connect with Irish history as you travel the Boyne canal, taking in the stories of mythology and the Battle of Boyne landmarks. Boyne Boats offer a range of different boat tours, with the Historic Boyne Canal Experience and Ancient Boyne River Experience.

Immerse yourself in our arts and culture scene

Take your trip at an easier pace and visit one of the many amazing museums and galleries in our region. Take in a show at one of the local theatres or join a painting class. 

Go to the races
Horses racing at Laytown beach
You have a choice of 4 racecourses when you visit us here in the Boyne Valley with your group. Visit Navan, Fairyhouse or Bellewstown who have regular race meetings throughout the year. The Laytown Beach races happen every September and is the only Irish horse racing event on a beach.

Go Fishing

Spend some time on the water for your group trip and take a trip with Chris Barry. Chris is an experienced angling expert that will help you explore the region’s waterways in pursuit of trophy fish. Go Fishing Ireland arranges guided boat fishing trips on lakes and rivers as well as angling and fly casting lessons.

There are over 30 walking trails to explore here in the Boyne Valley. Most of them are not demanding and provide a great way to get out in the fresh air while catching up with friends. Discover the Boyne Valley Greenway, the Royal Canal Greenway or the new Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway.
