Now in its 9th year, celebrating Irish Food and Drinks, the Boyne Valley Food Series 2022 brings the most exceptional choice of food experiences the Boyne Valley region has ever had! Under the “Discover Boyne Valley Flavours” umbrella, the Boyne Valley Food Series is a calendar of events which celebrates the land, the heritage, the people and of course the produce of the Boyne Valley. Choose from events this summer like Oldbridge Floral and Food Fair on the 29th of May, Oysters and Stout at the Crossguns from the 10th to the 12th of June or The Headfort Arms mid-summer long table feast on the 24th of June. This will be the summer of foodie adventures in the Boyne Valley!
Even our four-legged friends get a festival here in the Boyne Valley. Make your way to Causey Farm on the 29th of May for Dogitude. The Irish dog lover’s festival. One of Irelands favourite literature and arts festivals returns to Kells this year and promises an even bigger and better line up than previous years. Moynalty Country Music Festival
Dancing shoes at the ready for the return of the Moynalty Country Music Festival 2022 on the 26th of June. Acts this year include Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Robert Mizzell, Matt Leavy, Paul Leavy and more. Get your tickets fast as this promises to be a sell out festival.
Otherside Festival at Rock Farm Slane
It’s time to gather your tribe. Deep in the forests and valleys of Slane, the ultimate three - day gathering of people wanting something beyond the ordinary is waiting for you. Featuring a day-centric programme of music & comedy, engaging art, revitalising wellness, delicious food and drink along with some late-night antics to dance beneath the stars. Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival
The peace and tranquility of the picturesque town of Moynalty, Co Meath will once again be broken by the sounds and sights of a bygone era as the Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival gets underway. The 47th annual event will take place on the 14th August 2022 in the grounds of the Moynalty Steam Threshing Museum and parkland in the heart of the village.
Enjoy vintage car displays, vintage tractor displays, the queen of steam competition, traditional basket weaving, dog show, amusements and so much more.
The Royal Meath Show returns to the Porchfields of Trim on the 4th of September. With a huge range of animal and home industry classes, the setting for the Royal Meath Show is exquisite with St John’s Castle in view and the river Boyne running by. This is always a great family day out in Trim.
The Laytown Races occupy a unique position in the Irish racing calendar, as Ireland’s only horse racing event run on a beach under the Rules of Racing. This years event is on the 8th of September and the tickets are on sale now.
To close the summer season and the late evenings, The Dunshaughlin Harvest festival is always a great family event. This year it’s happening from the 23rd to the 25th of September. Music, street theatre, dance, heritage events, street market and lots of quirky fun events- this award-winning festival has something for everyone! A rural celebration in a contemporary town.
