The summer is in full swing here in the Boyne Valley and there is nowhere better to plan a summer vacation than County Meath and South County Louth. We’ve got beaches, we’ve got waterparks, we’ve got rollercoasters and some of the best food and drinks offerings in the Country! There is also a plethora of events happening this July in the region, so why not plan your trip to coincide with some of them. Here is a list of all the great events happening this July in the Boyne Valley.

Emerald Park

Emerald Park  are delighted to host their own Teddy Bear Picnic fundraiser in collaboration with our wonderful charity partners @JackandJillCF  on the 5th July. All entry tickets to Emerald Park for July 5th will include access to the Teddy Bear Picnic! For tickets click here

Cusack Hotel Group Family Day

Saturday 13th July, the famous Cusack Hotel Group Family Day is back this July - at the start of the Summer Holidays!  
Expect a great day out with face painting, bubble fun, magic shows, interactive racing experiences and much more. Whilst this is a family day, of course there is something for everyone with a summer BBQ also taking place and after racing there is live music in the Troytown Bar to keep everyone entertained! Fairy Festival at Loughcrew Estate

International Harp Festival

This year's festival takes place at An Grianán, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth from Sunday 30th June to Friday 5th July. Top quality workshops, classes, concerts and sessions are guaranteed. You will have an opportunity to engage with other harpers, gain a better understanding of Irish music, song and dance as well as learning more about the harp and its music. Find out more here.

Spire of Lloyd Guided Tours

Happening every Friday in July at 10am, 10.45am and 11.30am. Take the tour and climb to the top of Irelands only inland lighthouse. Children are Free, must be accompanied by an adult, not suitable for children under 5yrs. Find out more and book your tickets here.

Love Drogheda Family Fun day

Enjoy a family fun day in the heart of Drogheda on the 27th of July. Expect to see facepainting, balloon modelling, music, circus performance plus the return of some of our favourite characters. Find out more here.

The Story of Honey at Beewise Nature Trail

One Off Special Event. Know what it is to live like a bee within nature’s elaborate eco-system and cycle of life. Hear intriguing insights like how bees do an in-hive waggle dance to inform fellow bees about where to find the best nectar. View the honeybees through a large working observation hive. Watch the liquid honey flow from a frame fresh from the hive in a glass extractor. End with a tasting of diverse honeys such as spring, summer, and ivy honey. Our honey, beeswax products and homemade jams are available to purchase on the day. 

Date: Sunday 28th July 2024 Starts at 11am sharp. Duration: up to 3 hours (includes 1 hour of talks and demos and the remainder time is optional on the nature trail at your own pace.) For more details click here

Grill and Chill at Fairyhouse

Enjoy the last of the summer evening grill and chill events for 2024 on the 10th of July at Fairyhouse. Enjoy an afternoon at the Ballpark this July at Ashbourne International Baseball Centre. On July 8th – 14th Team USA take on Irish Baseball League. Drogheda Pride Festival

Drogheda Pride 2024 is taking place from July 18-21, and the whole town will be buzzing as crowds come together to celebrate love, diversity, and inclusivity.

This year’s Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, July 20. Following the parade, talented local artist Kobrah Kage will headline the main event with a highly-anticipated performance.Find out more here

The 83rd award-winning Oldcastle Agricultural Show is on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in Gilson Park! We offer competitions for farm animals such as sheep, cattle, poultry, horses, & dogs. North Eastern Vintage Car Club are running their annual Vintage Car Run taking off from Sage & Stone at 11am on Sunday July 21st and returning to Sage & Stone for tea and Judging of Best Turned out Car and Best Dressed Driver and Car. Find out more here.

Don`t forget you can enjoy an affordable day at  Red Mountain Open Farm whatever the weather, offering a rang of experiences many of them indoors. Only two minutes from the Newgrange Interpretive Centre. A family run mixed farm, enjoy the play areas, animals, indoor/outdoor facilities, the Bale Maze, the Blue Barrel Express, the Tractor Trailer Ride, pedal Tractors and Go-Karts. There are also horse carriage rides on offer and country farm walks. Tea, Coffee and soft drinks available along with ample parking for cars and coaches. With some new farmyard friends to visit in 2024.
